Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls Casserole is the same as that old favorite stuffed cabbage rolls entree you love but hate all the time and work that goes into it. This solves the labor problem. It’s an easy recipe that’s layered with cabbage, ground beef and rice in a baking dish. Also this is a healthy Diabetic and Weight Watcheunstuffed-cabbage-rolls-casserolers friendly recipe. Ingredients:
8 cups shredded cabbage (about 1 large head)
2 onions, chopped
1/4 cup Italian salad dressing
1 lb extra-lean ground beef
2 cups instant brown rice, uncooked
2 (10.75 oz) cans reduced-sodium condensed tomato soup
2 soup cans water
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
2. Cook and stir cabbage, onions and salad dressing in a large skillet over medium heat 5 to 10 minutes or until tender. Remove from skillet.
3. Brown the meat in the same skillet. Stir in rice, soup and water until blended. Layer 1/3 of the cabbage mixture then 1/2 the meat mixture in a 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Repeat layers; top with remaining cabbage mixture. Cover and bake for 1 hour.
Yield: 8 Servings
