The Simply Filling Technique Food List

What can you eat on the Simply Filling Technique? Plenty of delicious, satisfying foods. The entire list is right here.
We encourage people to track, because it makes you more aware of what you’re eating, and helps you maintain control when you’re aiming to lose weight. Still, tracking isn’t for everyone — and for those who want to try a different method, we offer the Simply Filling technique.

Following the Simply Filling technique means you eat exclusively from the Power Foods list without counting the PointsPlus values of those foods. Eat portions that feel right for you. Not so much that you feel too full, and not too little that you still feel hungry.

If you decide to try the Simply Filling technique, the Plan Manager makes it easy. Go to “Settings” and select “Tracking Preference.” Follow it for a day, a week or more; whatever works for you. You might find it’s a good idea if you’re on vacation or have a special event. You can always switch back if you decide Simply Filling isn’t for you.

You’ll still enjoy a weekly PointsPlus Allowance with the Simply Filling technique, and have room to treat yourself with food that is not on the Power Foods list. Just remember to track those items, and stay within your weekly allowance. You can also continue to earn, and swap, activity PointsPlus values. To be sure a food is included, look for the green triangle on the food lists.

weight watchers best recipes | Mini monkey bread muffins 1 point plus.

Author: Drizzle
Recipe type: Baking

Prep time:  5 mins Cook time:  10 mins Total time:  15 mins
Serves: 24
1pp each

Ingredients

1 package of Pillsbury buttermilk biscuits, 7.5oz (the multi 4 pack ones)
1.5T brown sugar
⅓ cup unsweetened applesauce
1.5T white sugar
1t cinnamon

Instructions

Preheat oven to 325F, spray a 24 mini muffin tin and set aside.

With an electric mixer beat together your applesauce and brown sugar. Divide mixture into the 24 mini muffin tin, about ½t in each. Cut up 8 of the tea biscuits in to 16 pieces, so cut 4 down and 4 across. You will have 2 extra tea biscuits left over.

In a bag mix white sugar and cinnamon together, place all your pieces of biscuits in the bag and shake well. Be sure to break up all the pieces that might stick together so they are all coated.

Place 5 pieces in each muffin cup.

Bake in oven for approx. 9-11 minutes until your biscuits are cooked. Make sure you have sprayed the muffin cups or they will stick. Using a knife to cut around, lift up muffins, the applesauce leaves a nice gooey yummy bottom. 2 muffins is 1pp, however if you eat 4 points go up to 3pp. Enjoy and try not to eat them all! ;)

weight watchers best recipes | Slow Cooker Italian Shredded Beef Hoagie Sandwiches points plus 10

Author: Organize Yourself Skinny
Serves: 8

Ingredients

1 (2.5lb) chuck roast
1 (.70 ounce) packet Simply Organic Italian Dressing Mix
1 (16-ounce) jar of sliced banana peppers (I used medium heat), reserve half ½ cup of the juice.
½ cup beef broth

Instructions

Place the chuck roast in the bottom of the slow cooker.

Sprinkle the Italian dressing mix over the top.

Pour the reserved banana pepper juice and beef broth over the chuck roast.
Flip the chuck roast a couple times and then pour ½ of the banana pepper rings on top of the roast.

Cook on high for 5 hours or low for 8 hours.

Remove the chuck roast from the slow cooker and place into a large bowl. Using 2 forks shred the beef. Pour in the rest of the banana peppers. Spoon in some of the reserved juice from the slow cooker. This helps keep the shredded beef moist and adds flavor.

Lightly toast one half of a hoagie roll. If you are feeling on the wild side add a little butter. Then place ½ cup of the shredded beef on the roll and then lay a ½ slice of provolone on top. Place under the broiler for 1-3 minutes or until the cheese is melted. Serve hot.

weight watchers best recipes | Chicken Sausage and Egg Breakfast Cups 3 points +

Author: Organize Yourself Skinny
Serves: 12

Ingredients

1 pound (about 5 – 6 links) parsely and cheese chicken sausage or whatever kind you prefer.
12 eggs
¼ cup 1% milk
Salt and pepper to taste (optional)
½ cup shredded cheddar
Cooking spray

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Remove chicken sausage from casings. In a medium pan, cook sausages until no longer pink. As they cook break sausages up, with a spatula, into small to medium size pieces. If needed, drain slightly, and then divide sausage crumbles among 12 muffins tins sprayed with cooking spray.

In a large bowl, whisk together eggs and milk. Add a little salt and pepper if using. **Please note I think the sausages add enough flavor without the salt and pepper. Next time I make it I will probably leave the salt and pepper out.** Divide the egg mixture evenly over the chicken sausage in the 12 muffin cups. Sprinkle cheese evenly over muffin cups.

Carefully walk to place the muffin pan into the oven and cook for 20 – 23 minutes or until cooked completely. Serve immediately or refrigerate.

Sammy: My Weight Watchers Tips and Tricks

I started writing this post in October of last year!!  I’m glad that I’m finally getting around to finishing and posting it!  I am a HUGE believer in the Weight Watcher program and I love spreading the love word!!
It’s a long one but I PROMISE you it’s worth the read!!   :)

I’ve talked about Weight Watchers a few times on the blog, mainly to spread the good word.  I’m not into fad diets, I don’t support starving yourself or taking extreme measures to reach a certain weight.

I do believe in a “healthy weight”, which is unique for EVERYONE!  I believe in eating foods from all the food groups, nourishing your body and feeling good about yourself!  I believe in indulging and enjoying without over-stuffing and feeling sick.  I don’t believe in punishing yourself for “eating badly” or, vice versa, rewarding yourself with food because, honestly, we’re not dogs! 😉 I don’t believe in “starting Monday”.

I always knew of Weight Watchers because I remembered my mom doing it when I was younger.  She went to meetings, checked everything she ate in her WW points book and wrote down everything that she ate in her journal.  It was a community, a gathering of (mostly, at the time) women supporting each other through one of life’s hardest feats….getting – and staying – healthy!

I always had an athletic build and I played tennis in high school.  I went off to college and participated in late-night all-the-time eating and, since no one was there to stop me, I pretty much went for it!

I had gained some weight (obviously!) my first 3 years at college.  I didn’t even notice it until I saw myself in pictures, like the one below!! – that’s when I knew I wanted had to make a change!

I strictly followed Weight Watchers the summer after my junior year of college and it helped me safely, slowly and effectively lose about 20 lbs.  I continued to follow it loosely for the next couple of years.  It became intuitive in nature to me – I basically knew the points for everything and anything that I ate and I kept a mental list.  It gave me structure and I loved it.  I then strictly followed it again after both of my boys were born, losing 40 lbs and 55 lbs, respectively.

I didn’t go to meetings but I had great family support (my poor husband boyfriend at the time, we ate in A LOT senior year!!), a scale at home and the willpower to JUST DO IT!  If you choose to start a Weight Watchers journey and pay, go to meetings, invest the time and money…that’s great!  If not, that’s great too!  And you’ll need the list below to help you

STAY ON TRACK!!!!

Here are some more tips and tricks (especially if you’re doing WW without going to meetings!) that worked for me that MAY work for you too….

Utilize a home scale.  This one DEFINITELY may not be for everyone!  If you have/had an unhealthy relationship with the scale before (for example, weighing yourself multiple times a day) do not follow this tip!  I used the scale as accountability and to help me see my progress.  I weighed in every week and recorded it.  I still check in every week or so.  (Maintenance is a journey as well!)
Drink water.  If you think you’re drinking enough water, DRINK MORE!  Stay away from juice, soda or other calorie-laden liquids….the best option is always water!!  Water, water, water!  Always have a water bottle with you, take it with you like you take your cell phone or your car keys.  Hydration is huge!!  Ok, did I say it enough? 😉
Utilize a food scale/measuring cups.  I LOVED my food scale when I was actively counting WW points.  And that’s a main reason why I LOVED eating home….I knew EXACTLY what I was eating, how much of it I was eating and how many calories (and therefore, points!) it had!  I measured out everything – it was fun for me.  The food scale opened my eyes to portion control.  It’s amazing how much over eating we do!!
Individually wrapped candy/cookies/snacks.  WW is awesome because NOTHING is off limits….and, as you can tell by the name of my blog, I am a dessert-lover!  100 calorie packs of cookies and Halloween candy were – and still are – favorites of mine!  Who can be trusted with a whole package of Oreos or a 250-calorie Snickers bar?? I can’t!  But when they’re individually wrapped and only 50-100 calories each they’re much more manageable!  (PS – now you’ll never look at the Halloween candy the same again!  You’re welcome :))
Canned chicken breast in water.  I still eat this 1-2x a week because it’s delicious!! A little mayo (or mustard!) goes a long way and you have a protein-packed, low-fat, low-calorie lunch…or dinner! Put it on a salad or some low-cal, high-fiber bread and you’re good to go!
Use spices and low-calorie condiments.  Spices are a GREAT way to add a ton of flavor to your meals, with no calories!!!  There are also condiments, like mustard, that pack a punch with only about 5 calories (0 points!) per serving!
MOVE!  This is a really important one!  Just GET ACTIVE!!  Do more than you were doing…don’t waste away on the couch watching TV!  I’m not saying sign up for a marathon or go run a 5k tomorrow…just do more, move more…in turn you’ll live more, I promise you that!!
DON’T CHEAT YOURSELF.  A diet program change in your lifestyle will not work for you unless YOU want it for YOU!  Sneaking food or not journaling a “mistake” is only cheating yourself….and you deserve better than that!! TRUTH: a cookie eaten in the kitchen, over the sink, while no one is home IS STILL A COOKIE EATEN!! :)
Find support.  An online group, a Facebook group, co-workers, family members or friends…you need people that will support you in the changes you are making.  Someone that you can check in with from time to time, to help keep you on the right track!
No one is perfect!  When you follow a diet it’s black and white…you either follow the diet or not.  When you make a lifestyle change it’s a process and it’s a new learned behavior.  Help yourself – do all the things that you can do to make yourself successful and that is all you can ask for!  :)

Simple Steps To Doing Weight Watchers For Free

One of the most popular diet plans around is Weight Watchers. This program has been around for many years and has become one of the standard methods of losing weight in a healthy manner.

Unfortunately many of us can’t afford to pay the monthly fees for the online program or local meetings. Here are Simple Steps To Doing Weight Watchers For Free that will help you jump start your journey to health in a way that will save your budget as well as see the numbers on the scale drop.

The secret behind the Weight Watchers program is truly the fact that you are not deprived foods you love but are held accountable for the quantity you eat. Between the simple to figure point system that allows some flexibility while keeping you in a healthy range of food and the weekly meetings with other individuals going through the same things your rate of success increases drastically. Doing this program from home can be done in a few simple steps.

SIMPLE STEPS TO DOING WEIGHT WATCHERS FREE

DETERMINE HOW MANY POINTS YOU ARE ALLOWED.

Thankfully this information is easy to determine thanks to a few people out there who have created accurate calculators online to figure this information for you. There are two versions of Weight Watchers Points systems.  There is the old system and the new Points Plus system.  While both work great, for the sake of clarity the information below is for the Points Plus system which doesn’t calculate all fruits/vegetables into your points allowances each day.

◦   All dieters receive 49 Bonus Points to be used over the course of the week.  I recommend using these throughout the week rather than in one giant meal.  Spreading them out helps you learn control and balance.  The minimum number of points a person would consume is 26 and the maximum is 71 per day.

◦   To determine your number of points daily input appropriate information in the forms at this link http://gnomes22.tripod.com/dailypptarget.html.  This has been checked against the Weight Watchers program calculator and is exactly the same.

DETERMINE HOW TO CALCULATE POINTS IN FOOD

This information can be determined by using a Weight Watchers Points Plus Calculator or this handy online tool http://www.calculatorcat.com/free_calculators/weight_watchers_calculator.phtml.  Most foods both processed or homemade are easy to determine if you are taking accurate measurements prior to eating.  I recommend grabbing a simple kitchen scale to weigh your food at least until you are more familiar with what portion sizes, ounces and servings look like.  This helps you be completely accurate with your points calculations each day. Weighmax Electronic Kitchen Scale – Weighmax 2810-2KG black

USE WEIGHT WATCHERS FRIENDLY RECIPES.  No matter what you are craving there are always Weight Watchers recipes easy to find on Pinterest, Blogs and Magazines to give you a points calculated substitute that is both Weight Watchers friendly as well as tasty.  You do NOT have to purchase special meals or even special ingredients to abide by the Points program and have success.

PLUG IN TO AN ACCOUNTABILITY GROUP.  Check with your friends to see if any of them are interested in joining you on this journey and meet at each others homes once a week, or simple connect online through Facebook Groups, Emails or online Forums with friends or strangers that are going through the same program.  Another site we love for connecting with others losing weight and getting healthy is Sparkpeople.com.

START MOVING.  Nothing boosts your metabolism and encourages ultimate weight loss and health like exercise.  No matter what your current status of health you can always do a few extra movements a day to help increase your strength and endurance.  Simple things like walking around your block, doing squats and lunges in your living room or using a Free Trial to a site like Daily Burn will give you a jump start toward success.  Start slow for 10 minutes at a time and build up your endurance as you lose and gain strength.

No matter what your budget is, you can easily follow these Simple Steps To Doing Weight Watchers For Free and find great success in your weight loss and overall health goals.  This easy program helps you to see serving sizes as they really are and not in the inflated manner we have become accustomed to.  Weight Watchers is a healthy plan to help you lose weight that promotes fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats and all other food groups in moderation.

weight watchers best recipes | Jalapeno Popper Stuffed Chicken

Author: Organize Yourself Skinny

Serves: 6

Ingredients

4 ounces cream cheese, softened
¼ cup greek plain yogurt
3 garlic cloves, grated
2 thick slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
3 jalapeno peppers, seeded and finely chopped
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
¼ cup grated romano cheese
½ teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon pepper
¼ teaspoon salt, optional
6 chicken cutlets
additional salt and pepper
½ cup panko breadcrumbs

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a medium bowl combine cream cheese, greek yogurt, garlic, bacon, jalapeno peppers, cheddar cheese, romano cheese, onion powder, and pepper. Mix together until all of the ingredients are combined. Give it a quick taste. Add salt if needed. *I find the amount of salt depends on the bacon. Some bacon is saltier than others. Set aside.

If the chicken cutlets are still on the thick side then place the chicken cutlet between two pieces of plastic wrap and use a meat mallet or rolling pin to pound it out to about ½ inch thick. The chicken will roll up – and stay rolled up – when it is about ½ inch thick.

Divide the jalapeno mixture among the 6 chicken cutlets. Roll up and sprinkle with a little salt and pepper.

Place the panko breadcrumbs into a medium bowl. Dip each rolled chicken cutlet into the panko (coating all sides) and place on a baking sheet that has been sprayed with cooking spray.

Bake for 40 minutes. Serve hot.

Notes
Make ahead instructions

Individually wrap cooked and cooled stuffed chicken in plastic wrap, placed in a large freezer bag, and stick in the freezer. Warm up in the microwave or in the oven. If you can, remember to take the chicken out the night before or in the morning the night you want to eat.

You can also freeze these before you make them. Flash freeze, then wrap in plastic wrap, and then place in a freezer bag and freeze. Again, take these out the night before to thaw a bit in the refrigerator. You might need to add a little extra cooking time if they are still frozen when you bake.

weight watchers best recipes | Baked Zucchini Chips (0 Points+)

Zucchini Chips – 0 weight watcher points. Yum! Bake at 425 for 15 min. Dip in salsa

1 zucchini
canola cooking spray
seasoned salt, or other seasoning(s) of your choice
Preheat oven to 225 degrees Fahrenheit.  Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or nonstick foil, and spray with canola oil.  Set aside.

Slice zucchini into thin medallions, about the thickness of a quarter.  (You can either use a knife & a very steady hand, or a mandoline slicer.)

Lay out slices on prepared baking sheet, and spray tops lightly with additional cooking spray.  Sprinkle with seasonings of your choice. (A note on seasoning, however – use LESS than what seems appropriate.  These shrink considerably in the oven, and if you use too much it gets very concentrated.  It’s better to end up underseasoning and add more later.)

Place in preheated oven and bake 45 minutes.  Rotate baking sheet, and bake an additional 30-50 minutes, until chips are browned and crisped to your liking.  These are best eaten within a couple hours of removing from the oven, as they start to get chewy if left out.  One zucchini makes one serving (1/4 C. – 1/3 C. of chips depending on the size of your squash).
